Candace Perez will set up a picnic that will have more than Yogi Bear trying to steal it

Sharing Austin business and personalities in our Spotlight Series is always a real joy. What I love so much about this particular installment, is that it isn’t just highlighting one of the best in Austin. It’s a truly unique Austin original that I suspect many will wish they had thought of first. I’m not saying I’m glad a pandemic happened, but I love seeing the ways people have adapted to it.

Please take a few minutes to learn about Candace Perez and Posh Picnic. And if you make it to the end you will see how you can get a discount on your own Posh Picnic

EAA: So this whole thing is a new, unique concept. Can you tell everyone exactly what Posh Picnic is?

Candace: The Posh Picnic is a woman owned business creating luxury picnic experiences in Austin Texas! Our picnic setups are bold, exciting, and totally Instagram worthy! Each of our picnics are two hours long and include a low table, rugs and pillows for lounge seating, full table setting, silk florals, and candles. The only thing our clients need to do is show up!

EAA: How did you get into high end picnic business?

Candace: The Posh Picnic was born out of the pandemic! My passion is surprising people with breathtaking experiences and unforgettable moments. When the pandemic hit, all of my events came to an end. I felt the need to come up with a solution for cabin fever but still in a safe, socially distant, and memorable way.

EAA: When did you start this?

Candace: I brought The Posh Picnic to life in June of 2020. We serve Austin and the surrounding area. We’ve traveled as far as Dallas and Kingsland to set up our Posh Picnics!

EAA: Who are your ideal clients?

Candace: My ideal client is a couple desperate for a date night/anniversary outside of the norm, besties that are missing their brunch fix, parents that don’t know what to do for their child’s birthday, and my personal fave – someone seeking a magical and romantic way to pop the question to their lover! I also just had a Father book a picnic for a father/daughter date night-how stinking cute!

EAA: What would you recommend to new people moving to Austin?

Candace: Austin is a beautiful city filled with endless talent, art, and culture. The perfect day in Austin will be spent on Lady Bird Lake. Go for a jog, grab taco (or three) from Veracruz Tacos, check out the shops on congress, and end your day watching the bats fly out from the Congress Bridge at sunset!

EAA: Any charities or non-profits you work with that you’d like to give a shout out to?

Candace: Yes! I have children so Partnerships for Children is a charity close to my heart. They work directly with children in Child Protective Services that have been removed from their home. They offer a “Rainbow Room” that is available 24/7 to supply the children with anything they may need, from toothbrushes and blankets, to notebooks and car seats. My annual event Breakfast with the Grinch donates proceeds to Partnerships for Children to provide gifts to children during the holidays .
